With the imminent arrival of Overwatch 2 Season 10, anticipation is mounting as players eagerly await what this new season has in store. While the introduction of a new hero has been confirmed, a recent developer update has unveiled a plethora of additional features to expect.

In this developer update, it was disclosed that heroes will now be available for free, and the Mythic customization system will undergo a significant revamp, among other exciting changes. Without prolonging the suspense any further, let's delve into the specifics and explore what lies ahead in Season 10.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 Developer Update Reveals Free Heroes, Mythic Revamps and More

As previously stated, the most recent Season 10 Developer Update has revealed quite a few exciting details to come in Season 10. For a more comprehensive breakdown, be sure to check out the official developer blog post here, but for a more condensed version, here are the highlights:

All Heroes Will be Unlocked At Base

Arguably one of the most exciting changes coming in Season 10 is the fact that all Heroes will be available for free, and none of them will be blocked off by the Battle Pass as they usually are. New players will still have to complete the Hero challenges to unlock them as they take to the practice range to learn the ropes, but it will ultimately be a lot easier to get access to these new heroes.

This is especially exciting since the latest hero coming to the game in Season 10, 'Venture', will be available for free, and all any of us need to do will be to complete the hero challenges. Lastly, in addition to this, all the current heroes will be unlocked once Season 10 rolls in, opening up the hero pool fully and starting Season 10 on an even playing ground for all players.

The Mythic Customizations Will Be Revamped

During the Overwatch 2 Season 10 Dev update, we were shown a brand new Mythic Shop, likely a new way to upgrade and unlock the highly desired Mythic hero skins within the game. Based on what we know, the shop will allow players to grind for new and old Mythic skins via the Premium Battle pass.

Each skin will also be customizable, allowing you to change the look of specific parts of your skin, meaning more customizations for your main heroes. Overall, the Mythic skin system will be more customizable and flexible in Season 10.

Post-Season 10 Updates And Features

Now, of course, Season 10 will introduce quite a few general changes such as hero balances, new items and cosmetics, and much more, but beyond Season 10, there's even more to look out for according to the devs. Blizzard hinted at addressing toxic players, tweaking competitive play restrictions, and adding a Streamer mode for anonymity.

All in all, Season 10 seems to be a game changer for Overwatch 2 and we, along with all other Overwatch 2 fans, are quite excited for what's to come and are hopeful that Blizzard can effectively deliver on everything they've promised.
