Phasmophobia Update 8 Reveals New Info About Progression Reset, & Changes

Phasmophobia's v0.9 update has been in development by Kinetic Games for a while now; fans have been waiting to hear more news about the prestige and progression update, as well as new equipment and other new features, for a few months.

Kinetic Games satiated that curiosity today by providing a development preview on Steam, providing updates about the features players have been wanting to hear about most, including prestige badges and the major updates to the D.O.T.S Projector.

Prestige And Progression Update

In the next prestige update, players' levels will be reset to zero, but all players will receive the Prestige 1 status, giving them access to any maps and equipment they were able to play before the update.

Developers also offered a sneak peek at the new prestige level badges. Players' level before the reset will be displayed as a badge on their arm, and you'll be able to choose its appearance - including color, accents, backgrounds, and more.

Here's a look at the new badges:

New D.O.T.S. Projector

With the new D.O.T.S Projector, players will be able to see the ghost's exact location. There will also be three equipment levels, as follows (from Kinetic Games):

• Tier I is like the real-life equivalent of a D.O.T.S. projector; a Laser Grid Pen. Similar to a flashlight, you can walk around the location and scan quickly for evidence, the only downside being its short range and low light intensity.
• Tier II is how you know D.O.T.S. today, a placeable projector emitting an average-sized sphere of light, except now you can encourage the ghost to walk into it by standing nearby!
