Throughout the years, Pokemon has released a large number of games that are different than the mainline series. Pokemon Unite is a good example of this. Pokemon Unite features many fan-favorite Pokemon but instead of normal Pokemon battles, you are playing in a MOBA-type of competition. Ladders, codes, and seasonal rewards are all available in Pokemon Unite.

One thing that has been keeping players engaged with Pokemon Unite is the flow of new Pokemon that is introduced to the roster. The latest additions to Pokemon Unite are Blaziken, Mimikyu, and Meowscarada. Here, we are going to be talking about when Mimikyu will be released in Pokemon Unite.

When Does Mimikyu Release In Pokemon Unite

During the Pokemon World Championships, there were a large number of announcements for a variety of Pokemon games. Pokemon Unite had a trailer revealing the next three Pokemon that are going to be introduced to the game. The first will be Blaziken, the next Mimikyu, the final is Meowscarada. So far, only Blaziken has an official release date for Pokemon Unite.

However, that does not stop data miners from finding out when Pokemon will be released. A data miner named ElChicoEevee has been a very reliable source of leaks for Pokemon Unite. He even has gameplay videos of Mimikyu as well. According to him, Mimikyu will launch in Pokemon Unite on October 19th. This is not verified yet but it should be pretty accurate.

How To Unlock Mimikyu In Pokemon Unite

Assuming that Mimikyu does release on October 19th, players will have to still unlock this Pokemon to use it. Like other MOBA games, Pokemon Unite is free and players will have to put in a bit of effort to unlock the content that they want to use. To unlock Mimikyu, you will need to get its Unite License to get it. There are a couple of different ways that you can obtain the Unite License for Mimikyu.

You just need to purchase it from the in-game shop. You can spend two different kinds of currency to unlock Mimikyu. The first is Aeos Coins which is earned through in-game challenges. The second are Aeos Gems which are obtained through purchasing them with your actual money. There also might be a promotional event to use Mimikyu for free so be on the look out for that.
