How to catch Glameow in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Glameow is a popular Pokémon in Sinnoh but some players are having a hard time finding it in their travels.

The Glameow line was first introduced in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games back in 2007. Since then, the Pokémon has been a fan-favourite thanks to its cat-like appearance and surprisingly strong evolution, Purugly. As expected, the line returned with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl but with a small twist.

Some players are finding it extremely easy to catch Glameow in their new Sinnoh experience while others can’t seem to capture it anywhere on the map. There is a clear-cut reason for this and players who bought the wrong version of the Sinnoh remakes might be disappointed in this reason.

Players can read a full guide on how they can catch Glameow in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

In short, Glameow is a version exclusive in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. If you own a copy of Brilliant Diamond, then you are unable to catch the cat Pokémon out in the wild. On the other side of things, Shining Pearl players can easily find it in a couple of different locations.

Brilliant Diamond players are forced to find a trade partner that’s willing to part with a Glameow from their copy of Shining Pearl.

If you own Shining Pearl and still can’t find Glameow, then you’ll need to look on Route 218 and 222. Glameow can be found in the grass on these routes and has a decently high encounter rate.

So you need to put those repels away for a second, walk around in the tall grass on these routes and you’ll be able to find and catch Glameow in no time.

To evolve Glameow into Purugly, you’ll need to train it up until it reaches level 38, which will certainly take some time. Luckily, Glameow is in the “fast” group when it comes to experience gain, so it won’t take as long as you might think.
