How To Get Buzzwole In Pokémon GO - Special Research, Location, And More

With the next GO Fest event live in Seattle, Buzzwole has become the third Ultra Beast to enter Pokémon GO.
How To Get Buzzwole In Pokémon GO - Special Research, Location, And More

Ultra Beasts have become some of the crown jewels during the Season of GO in Pokémon GO. Two have appeared in the game so far, and now Buzzwole will bring that number up a notch.

By the end of the Season of GO, we will have four different Ultra Beasts within the mobile. However, these are crown jewels because they are fairly exclusive at the moment. Nihilego has been the easiest to get so far, and even that Pokémon was locked behind many steps or raids during GO Fest 2022. Though that will likely change in the future, there is one main route to getting a hold of a Buzzwole.

At the moment, the only way to catch a Buzzwole in Pokémon GO is by attending the latest GO Fest event in Seattle. This event is both expensive and exclusive, so most Trainers in the world are going to have to sit out until further notice. But that might not be as long as you might think.

Once all three GO Fest 2022 in-person events have concluded, there is supposed to be a finale for all global GO Fest 2022 participants. Considering we already got global access to Nihilego, and Ultra Beast Balls were introduced, it's likely they will be unlocked for everyone. Sky Forme Shaymin could also join that list. The final should take place in late August.

For those who could make it to Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle, you'll still need to complete some research to get a hold of your own Buzzwole. There are two sets of Special Research, one labeled as the Park Experience and the other as the City Experience. The City is the theme you want to focus on. Below you'll find all of the City Special Research steps and rewards.

  • Give 3 treats to your buddy - 2 Poffins
  • Earn 3 hearts with your buddy - 2 Incense
  • Use an Incense - 22 Poké Balls

GO Fest Seattle - City Experience 3/5

  • Hatch 2 Eggs - 2 Silver Pinap Berries
  • Battle in 2 Raids - 2022 XP
  • Earn 10,000 XP - 2 Rare Candies
  • Rewards: 22 Great Balls, Snorlax Encounter, 2 Hyper Potions

GO Fest Seattle - City Experience 4/5

  • Power up Pokémon 3 times - 2 Max Revives
  • Rewards: 22 Poké Balls, 22 Ultra Balls, Buzzwole Encounter

GO Fest Seattle - City Experience 5/5

  • Spin 3 Poké Stops you have not visited before - 2 Pinap Berries
  • Hatch 3 Eggs - 2022 Stardust
  • Send 10 Gifts to friends - 2 Rare Candies
  • Rewards: 2022 XP, 22 Buzzwole Candies, 1 Elite Charged TM

When you do finally reach the Buzzwole Encounter in the Special Research, you will be given a Beast Ball to catch it. These essentially act the same way as a Premiere Ball when you win a raid or defeat a Team GO Rocket member. Because it's an encounter, it won't escape, but that will change if more Ultra Beasts are introduced to raids instead.
