The Pokémon Players Cup has become a lifeline tournament for competitive players across Sword and Shield, Pokken Tournament DX and the trading card game.

Created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pokémon Players Cup is the official online tournament replacement (of sorts) for the Pokémon World Championships which have been cancelled until 2022.

As the third edition of the series looks to crown another batch of champions, here’s what you need to know about the Pokémon Players Cup 3. 

 

When is the Pokémon Players Cup 3 Global Finals?

The Pokémon Players Cup 3 finals span three days from Friday 23rd April to Sunday 25th April. 

The event covers tournaments in Pokémon Sword and Shield (VGC), the trading card game (TCG) and Pokken Tournament DX. The top 4 finalists in the TCG, VGC, and the winner of the Pokken Tournament DX finals, will win Travel Awards for a future international Championship of their choosing.

 

Who is competing? 

There are 16 players competing in the VGC global finals, comprised of four players from the regional finals in North America, Latin America, Europe and Oceania.

What is the schedule and start time?

The Pokémon Players Cup 3 finals kick off Friday 23rd April at 11am PT/7pm BST, with the stream starting at the same time across the following two days.
