Here is where to find all the Rare Candy items in Pokémon BD & SP
All Rare Candies Locations in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
Rare Candies have been a staple of the Pokémon franchise. The incredibly rare items allow players to level up a Pokémon one level automatically. This can be extremely useful for levelling up Pokémon once they’re at a high level or to make the evolution/move learning process easier.

As players would expect, Rare Candies are back in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (see our article for all the Pokemon BDSP differences & exclusives) and they’re found all over Sinnoh. However, some of their locations have been changed from the original 2007 games. This means that players will need to do some searching in order to find every single one in the Sinnoh remakes.

Below, players can see where every available Rare Candy be found.

There are technically three ways of finding Rare Candies in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The first is by finding them on the ground as usual. The second way is by using the Dowsing Machine in specific spots along routes. Finally, the third way is by catching a Pokémon with the Pick-Up ability and having them find Rare Candies for you.

This article is going to focus on where to find the Rare Candies out in Sinnoh. Below, you can see the location of every available Rare Candy in the overworld.

  • Eterna City - Speak to Dawn’s Father, one of Rowan’s assistants
  • Route 214 - Surf across the pond at the northern part of the route
  • Route 218 - Surf to a small island and look behind some trees
  • Route 224 - Surf past the group of trees and find it next to a berry patch
  • Route 225 - Go to the bottom bridge past three trainers and two cuttable trees
  • Route 230 - Surf to the island in the middle of the water and Rock Smash past two rocks
