Remnant 2 doubles down on the buildcrafting elements of Remnant: From the Ashes by adding more ways to customize characters. One of the most notable changes from the original is the addition of multiple new Archetypes and how they influence combat and progression.

To make buildcrafting more flexible and meaty at the same time, Gunfire Games have added Dual Archetypes in Remnant 2. In simple terms, it means players can equip two Archetypes at the same time and leverage skills, perks, and traits of both of them during combat. However, there's much more to this complex new gameplay system, and this guide covers everything players need to know about the Dual Archetypes in Remnant 2.

In Remnant 2, players can use a secondary Archetype after making significant progress in the game. As of this writing, Gunfire Games hasn't revealed how and when players can use Dual Archetypes, but it has provided some key details about how this gameplay mechanic functions.

For starters, there will be a primary Archetype and a secondary Archetype, and depending on what Archetypes players are using, they will have a Class name, which will be visible to other players.

Both primary and secondary Archetypes will have access to all its skills, perks, and traits, with the only exception being the Prime Perk. Players can only equip the Prime Perk of their Primary Archetype at a given time.

With Dual Archetypes, players will have a ton of options to craft their build according to their liking. They could use a high DPS primary Archetype like Challenger to deal massive damage while leveraging the healing skills of their secondary support Archetype like Medic to keep themselves alive on the battlefield. Having a Dual Archetype system could also encourage solo play as it would give players the option to create a hybrid build that has both offensive and defensive maneuvers.

Thankfully, there's no restriction on what Archetype goes with which, so players can even use two DPS Archetypes to maximize damage or use two utility Archetypes to maximize support.

That's everything players need to know about the Dual Archetypes in Remnant 2.
