Dead Rails just got a whole lot deadlier with its latest 4th of July update, introducing three brand-new classes that change the way you fight and survive. Whether you're swinging swords with the Knight, stacking buffs as King, or turning cash into carnage as the Tycoon, there's a new meta brewing on the rails.

But which class should you bond with first? Here's everything you need to know about all the classes added in the new Dead Rails update—from costs and starting gear to what each one actually does in combat.

How Many Classes Were Added In The New Dead Rails Update?

The developers added 3 new classes in the 4th July update in Dead Rails: Knight, King, and Tycoon. Here’s a breakdown of each of them, including their buffs, cost, and starting items.

Class Buffs Cost Items
Knight Buffs players with the King class if playing in a team 75 1× Helmet, 1× Chestplate, 1× Sword (better than Excalibur?), and1× Shovel
King Gains more HP and damage the more people play as a Knight. 75 Shovel
Tycoon Gains improved damage and max health depending on the player's money (capped at $2,000) 75 Shovel

What Is The Best New In The New Dead Rails Update?

Out of all the new classes, Tycoon stands tall as the most powerful and flexible pick in the new Dead Rails update. For 75 bonds, you get a class that directly converts money into power—literally. For every dollar (up to $2,000), you gain a 0.1% permanent boost to both damage and max HP.

At full cap, that’s a massive 200% bonus across the board. Unlike King, which depends on teammate synergy, Tycoon thrives solo, provided you can stack up cash. Raiding towns and POIs becomes your path to dominance, and with enough savings, you can one-shot Outlaws.

The only real downside? You'll have to spend that money eventually, which makes Tycoon a high-risk, high-reward class. Still, if you manage your purchases smartly, this is hands-down the strongest new class in the game.

And that's a wrap! Now you have all the details about the new classes in Dead Rails.
