The Pet Mutations Update in Grow a Garden releases on 12th July—and it's introducing mutant pets. These critters aren't just shiny collectibles, but instead come with powerful new passives, visual upgrades, and serious stat buffs that can take your gardening game to the next level!

The catch? The process of obtaining them won’t be easy. Here’s exactly how to get mutated pets in Grow A Garden on Roblox, including how to age pets quickly and all the known pet mutations in the game.

How To Get Mutant Pets In Grow A Garden | Roblox

To mutate your pets in Grow A Garden, each pet must be level 100 (age 100). Without that, you cannot proceed at all. Once a pet hits that milestone, take it to the Pet Mutation Machine (it's located right next to the Pet Eggs Store). After that, it will get any of the following:

• A visual transformation (e.g., rainbow, shiny, frozen)
• One or more new passive abilities added on top of its existing ones (e.g., better duplication rates, plant growth speed boosts, and more)
• Boosted stats

These passives stack with what the pet already has in Grow A Garden, meaning overpowered pets like Dragonfly and Disco Bee become even more busted. For example, lets say you get a Shiny Racoon, then it has a chance to add Shiny mutations to crops you've planted.

How To Age Pets Fast In Grow A Garden | Roblox

To make pets older in Grow a Garden, you need to earn XP while keeping their hunger bar filled. Pets won’t age if they’re hungry, so you must feed them regularly with crops from your inventory. As pets grow older, the XP needed to level up increases, but so do their stats—like reduced cooldowns or better trait effects.

You can view pet age and hunger via the pet menu. To reach mutation-ready status at age 100, you'll need consistency and time. That said, there are four new gear coming out in the Pet Mutations update that will boost pet leveling speed—so keep an eye out for that!
