Roblox SearchBlox Extension: How To Delete Chrome Malware

Recent news of the Roblox SearchBlox Chrome extension being used to hack thousands of players' accounts surfaced on the 22nd November and many players, parents and guardians are extremely concerned about what the effects of this hack have been. More notably, parents and players want to know how to find this extension and remove it from their devices to keep their games secure.

So in this article, will be taking a look at how to spot and delete this extension from your devices to keep yourself and others secure while playing Roblox. And then take a closer look at the details surrounding the Roblox SearchBlox Chrome extension itself.

What Is SearchBlox? A Chrome Extension That Hacks Accounts

The "SearchBlox" Chrome extensions claim to allow you to quickly search for other users and were seemingly legitimate at one point. One extension has been downloaded less than a thousand times, while the other has over 200,000 installations. But now there's circumstantial evidence that one or more people are stealing Roblox currency using the data collected by the hidden backdoor that this extension creates.

The owner of the SearchBlox extension named @UnstoppableLucent on Roblox, according to BleepingComputer and prominent Roblox YouTuber KreekCraft, had compromised the plugin with malicious Javascript code. The extension originally was designed to be a simple search tool for Roblox servers as mentioned before, but it appears was only a cover for the creator's true intent.

While the hack does not steal the password or account information of a Roblox user, the injected code steals limited items and Robux without the user's knowledge. According to a tweet from RoPro Roblox Extension, it can also steal a user's assets on Rolimons, a Roblox trading platform.

How To Delete SearchBlox Extension Malware

First and foremost, you'll want to check and see if this extension has been installed on your device, or someone else and remove it as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of being hacked. To do so, simply follow the steps outlined below:
