With Silent Hill 2 remake's release just around the corner, many fans are gearing up to play the upcoming title on their consoles or PC. But many also are wondering whether the game will be available to play on their console - there's a confirmed Silent Hill 2 release for PlayStation, but what about Xbox and other consoles? The answer is a little less straightforward than you may think. Here's the scoop on whether Silent Hill 2 remake will be on Xbox, and when - or if - fans can expect to play it there.
Will Silent Hill 2 Remake Be On Xbox?
Unfortunately, Bloober Team and Konami's Silent Hill 2 remake will not be on Xbox quite yet, at least when the game is released. The title is set to be a PS5-exclusive on release, meaning that you'll only be able to play the game on either PS5 or on PC through Steam.
However, there is hope for fans who want to play the game on their trusty Xbox consoles. The teams behind Silent Hill 2 have confirmed that the game will be a PS5 exclusive for one year - but that agreement ends on 10 August 2025. From there, several things could happen with the game's licensing and distribution.
It's very likely that Silent Hill 2 will continue to be available on the PlayStation store after next August, but it's also possible that the game could come to Xbox Series X/S, and, if developers wanted to try something unique, they could even bring the survival horror title to Switch and Steam Deck.
So, while Silent Hill 2 remake won't be available on Xbox consoles on release, fans shouldn't lose hope - the Xbox release could be just a little over a year away. The Silent Hill 2 remake is set to release on 8 October 2024, just a little over two weeks from now.
