A guide to Rebel: Spilling the TFTea

Rebel is one of the new Galaxies origins that doesn't play by the rules. This is all you need to know about Rebel and how to achieve success with it.
A guide to Rebel: Spilling the TFTea

Teamfight Tactics' third set, Galaxies, brought new and returning champions with classes and origins that differ from previous sets.

One of these origins is Rebel. In Galaxies, Rebel champions are from one of the newest origins, granting health and attack damage for Rebel champions a shield lasting eight seconds and increased damage for each adjacent Rebel at the start of combat.

This bonus triggers with three and six Rebel champions on the field:

  • Three = 150 shield, 10% damage
  • Six = 225 shield, 12% damage

This is similar to the Cybernetic origin, but Rebel does not require champions to have items in order to gain the bonus.

There are six Rebel champions currently available in Galaxies:

  • Ziggs
  • Malphite
  • Sona
  • Yasuo
  • Master Yi
  • Jinx
  • Aurelion Sol

Below is a full breakdown of all of the Rebel champions including their costs, classes and stats.

Build Guide

The full Rebel trait bonus is strong as Galaxies does not have an equivalent to Desert from Rise of the Elements which could reduce armour significantly, meaning you can build champions that are able to survive in fights against physical and magic damage once the shield goes down. Mystic can be activated with Sona to grant magic resistance to all allies and make Rebels tankier.

With Yasuo and Master Yi both Blademasters, it isn't difficult to pair them with an early Blademaster like Xayah or Shen to get the class bonus. Malphite and Jinx's classes first activate with just two champions and so Brawler and Blaster can also be used alongside Rebels.

Additional Rebel champions cannot be created using the Spatula so it would be best to use any towards a Force of Nature or to grant additional classes and origins that compliment a Rebel build.
