A guide to Warden: Spilling the TFTea

Warden is a sturdy class of champion that works well when combined with hard-hitting classes. This is all you need to know about Warden and how to achieve success with it.
A guide to Warden: Spilling the TFTea

Teamfight Tactics' second set of champions came with the Rise of the Elements update that also changed League of Legends' iconic Summoner's Rift map.

Warden is one of the many classes within the Rise of the Elements Teamfight Tactics set, slow and steady champions capable of withstanding damage.

Wardens gain additional armor depending on how many Warden champions are on the field.

There are only two levels for this bonus to activate with the full set gaining an additional bonus as explained below:

  • Two = +150% armor
  • Four = +300% armor
  • Six = +999 % armor

The nine champions below are the Warden options with their cost, second class and stats for their ultimates listed:

Build Guide

Warden is one of the more common classes so it won't be too hard to utilise the two unit bonus in the early game with Nasus, Thresh and Leona being solid early game investments.

You can get the six Warden bonus even without all of the above champions but can choose to use a Warden's Mail on non-Warden champions.

This item can be made with a Spatula and Sparring Gloves, dropped as a full item or found in carousels following the raptors.

Pure Warden builds aren't usually able to do the same amount of damage as other classes so will need to be paired with champions able to deal damage as the Wardens support such as Assassins.

Patch 10.2 has nerfed one-cost Warden Leona and fellow Lunar champion Karma while boosting the six Warden bonus from +450% armor to +999%.

  • Leona's spell damage reduction decreased from 40/90/140 to 40/80/120
