What Is LAN Mode In V Rising?

LAN Mode in V Rising is essentially an offline gameplay option that allows you to play without an internet connection. But this mode offers more than just single-player action, as the name might suggest. You can also collaborate with friends on the same local network to take on the undead together.

LAN Mode can be played solo or with friends on the same local network. Please keep in mind that we will work on improving the LAN Mode as we continue to develop V Rising during Early Access.

So how exactly do you enable LAN Mode in V Rising, and what setting should you be aware of when trying to play this vampire survival title with friends on the same local network? Our next section of this guide has you covered.

How To Enable V Rising LAN Mode

Players can activate LAN Mode from within the host game screen and when starting up the server. To play V Rising offline without an internet connection, there are a few steps you need to follow in terms of Steam Settings:

  • Start Steam
  • Go Offline on Steam (Steam -> Go Offline…)
  • Disconnect from the internet
  • Start V Rising

Next, you can host a Private Server with LAN Mode enabled. Players hosting a V Rising LAN Mode server will have to start the server in LAN Mode by ticking the checkbox in the UI, as illustrated in the image. Alternatively, you can start a dedicated LAN server with the -lan parameter.

Lastly, those attempting to connect to a V Rising LAN server need to tick the "LAN Server" checkbox located in the Direct Connect to Server window. Alternatively, you can use the "ConnectLan" console command. And that's everything you need to know about this new game option.
