Despite a valiant effort from FNATIC during the VCT 2023, with the VALORANT team making it all the way to the Champions in Los Angeles, after a knock-out by LOUD, FNATIC ended the tournament in 4th place. Getting the team through the tournament was Head Coach Jacob "mini" Harris who has announced that he has made the decision to step down from the Head Coach position.

In a statement posted to the official FNATIC X (Twitter) account, the team revealed the decision was made after "careful consideration from Mini to explore options for a better work-life balance." However, the statement was quick to declare that it might not be the end of mini's involvement with FNATIC:

While we are in active discussions with Mini to potentially look at a new role within the coaching team, we must also look outward in the pursuit of finding top talent to step into the role of Head Coach.

The statement went on to thank mini for all of his work as the Head Coach for the team's VALORANT journey. Mini joined FNATIC IN 2021 as Head Coach following his time coaching for SUMN FC (which was then acquired by FNATIC).

Speaking in his own statement, mini said, "I'd like to thank FNATIC for putting a lot of trust in me over the past 3 years, all the boys I've coached over my career, all those I've worked with at FNATIC, and everyone who has supported us! I have grown a lot from this experience but I would just like to be "Jacob Harris" a bit more and not "mini" 24/7 (Jacob's a lot more relaxed. Unfortunately, both are equally short)."
