Age of Empires Fan Preview: Date, how to watch, and what to expect

Age of Empires fans, rejoice!

After a long period of silence regarding Age of Empires IV, Microsoft and Relic Entertainment are finally holding an event that will showcase a lot of new details about the 4th instalment in the beloved real-time strategy series.

Age of Empires IV has been officially announced back in August of 2017, at Gamescom 2017, and then in November of 2019 gameplay footage of Age of Empires IV was shown during the X019 event.

But since then, almost a complete radio silence, and fans have been wondering what is going on with the game.

And those questions will finally be answered this April (at least some of them), as Microsoft has officially announced the Age of Empires Fan Preview event, which will be fully focused on the Age of Empires series, including a lot of new details about AoE IV.

Here's everything we know about the event.

Age of Empires Fan Preview date and time: When and where to watch?

The Age of Empires Fan Preview event is scheduled for 10th April 2021.

The broadcast will last for half an hour, starting at 9 am PT / 12 pm ET / 6 pm CET.

The event will be streamed live on AgeofEmpires.comTwitchFacebook Live, and the Xbox YouTube channel.

Microsoft hasn't revealed many details about the event, but we do know the most important thing: the main focus of the presentation will be on Age of Empires IV.

It has been confirmed that we can expect to see a new gameplay showcase, as well as first details about the game's campaigns and civilizations which will be featured in Age of Empires IV.

And while fans are naturally excited the most about AoE IV, that won't be the only thing we will have a chance to see this April.

Microsoft confirmed that they will also share "some exciting news" for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, but we don't know what could that mean at this point.

Rumours are going around that Age of Empires IV will be released this year, but that is yet to be confirmed. Maybe the release date is to be announced during the event? We will have to wait and see.
