Aliens: Fireteam Elite is almost a perfect co-op game, where you and your buddies embark on a dangerous mission of cleaning the Katanga refinery station, which has been completely overrun by xenomorphs.
With six character classes, dozens of missions, five levels of difficulty, and a myriad of weapons (as well as weapon customization and character progression options), the game could easily be something you can spend countless hours on, playing it with your friends in front of a big screen.
But is there a local co-op feature in Aliens: Fireteam Elite?
Is there split-screen in Aliens: Fireteam Elite?
Unfortunately, Aliens: Fireteam Elite still doesn't support local co-op play, meaning that you won't be able to set up split-screen mode and play it on a single console with three players.
The split-screen feature is not available on both consoles and PC. Despite some players hoping for it to arrive with Season 2, to accompany the game's arrival on Xbox Game Pass, that didn't happen.
You can still play the game with your friends online via private lobbies but that's far from the ideal couch co-op experience. It's rather unfortunate that a game designed for co-op play doesn't support local split-screen co-op, but the developers, Cold Iron Studios, have been open from the very beginning that their game is an online-only survival shooter and that it won't feature local co-op.
It's unlikely that couch co-op support will come in the near future as well, so don't get your hopes up about that happening any time soon.
What's even more disappointing is that the game also doesn't support cross-platform, which means you won't be able to play online with your friends from other platforms.
Finally, cross-progression is also not supported; you won't be able to bring your account from PC to consoles and vice versa.
