Khalif "Khroen" Hashim and Juan "JSchritte" Freitas are two former Heroes of the Storm professional players who have picked up the auto battler game mode anticipated to add a new branch to the current LoL esports landscape.

Khroen went onto Twitter for his own announcement, stating 'after the HGC died I was scared I wouldn't find another opportunity to compete, but less than a year later we've made it back into esports.' The Heroes Global Championship and Heroes of the Dorm were both cancelled in 2018 due to Blizzard feeling 'they would not meet the standards that players and fans have come to expect' should it have continued.

Teamfight Tactics was introduced into game in June and its popularity has continued to grow. It now has its own category on Twitch and even those who do not usually play League or enjoy the style of games have been hooked.

The game has some elements that are based on RNG, such as the champions on offer in the store and the type of items dropped by PvE minions or monsters. What helps players reach the top four and have consistent success is a knowledge of the various champions, composition positions and synergies as well as the best item combinations for each champ.

Cloud9 have been successful in League with their team in LCS. Having consistently finished top six in the region (NA LCS Summer 2015 is the only exception), Cloud9 finished second in the LCS group stage this Summer and are in the running for a spot at the 2019 World Championship through the playoffs.

The announcement comes within a week of Cloud9 dropping both their PUBG and Apex Legends teams from the organisation.
