Dead Space Story Producer Would Like To 'Redo Dead Space 3 Almost Completely'

The story producer of the original Dead Space trilogy has stated that he wants to 'redo Dead Space 3 almost completely' if given the option. 

Chuck Beaver, the story producer for all three original Dead Space games, stated during an interview with YouTuber CaptainBribo that while working on Dead Space 3 the vision of the artists was seen as less important:

"There's a return on investment number that has to be hit, so there were some calculated risk that we all made that we thought would do it, and it didn't work out."

Beaver went on to speak about how mechanics were added to Dead Space 3 in order to try and capture a new audience, a direction that didn't really pan out for the studio.

"The plan was that we would expand into other gameplay genres and stuff, and I think all those bits together not only didn't generate a new audience, they lost the old audience. The gun mechanic, the re-crafting, we missed a lot of the stuff that everybody loved about the old one, and then created a whole bunch of exploration space - we were on a big wide open planet because of that. And all these decisions had lots of follow-on. And then co-op - the hits just kept coming = it was like 'what? Co-op?'"

Dead Space Remake launched earlier this year to near-universal critical acclaim, sparking a conversation about whether we can expect to see the story of Dead Space continued in further remakes, though no confirmation has came either way on this.
