Deathloop delayed again to September 2021

Arkane’s highly-anticipated shooter has been pushed back once again.
Deathloop delayed again to September 2021

Deathloop's release date has been delayed to 14th September 2021.

Announced on the game’s official Twitter, developer Arkane Lyon stated the delay was to fulfil their ambitions with the title, while “ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane”.

The post reads: “We’re committed to quality and preserving our team’s ambitions for Deathloop while ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Arkane. We’ll be using this extra time to accomplish our goal: create a fun, stylish, and mind-bending player experience.

“We apologise for the extended wait and thank you all for your passion and excitement. It is the fuel that powers our creativity and our hard work. We can’t wait to show you more Deathloop soon!”

Deathloop was originally scheduled to release last year but was pushed back to 21st May. Suspicions about another potential delay however grew after the release date was noticeably absent from the latest trailer.

Delays are also an ongoing trend for 2021, with Hogwarts Legacy, Back 4 Blood, Guilty Gear Strive, Gotham Knights and Gran Turismo 7 just some of the titles pushed back.

Considering this is the same team who created Dishonored and Prey however, there’s a strong chance the delay will be well worth the wait.

Deathloop releases on PlayStation 5 on 14th September 2021.
