Eiyuden Chronicle Rising - Release date, features, and gameplay

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is an upcoming 2D side-scrolling action RPG from the mind of Japanese game designer Yoshitaka Murayama, who is well known for the Suikoden game series.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising serves as a prequel to the upcoming Eiyude Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which will release in 2023.  With that said, here's everything you need to know about Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising including its release date, story, gameplay, and whether it will be released on Xbox Game Pass or not.

The story in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising kicks off in the fantastical town of New Nevaeh where an earthquake disrupts the everyday life of the locals and attracts adventures that want to investigate the unearthed ruins.

There are three playable characters in Eiyuden Chronicle - CJ, Isha, and Garoo, each with their motive to pursue the "Rune Lens" left after the calamity. While New Nevaeh serves as your go-to town, there are plenty of other regions to explore in the game.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising features real-time hack and slash combat where you can switch between party members for different gameplay experiences.

As you would expect, every party member in Eiyudent Chronicle: Rising brings something different to the table. CJ dual-wields axes, whereas Garoo brings a one-handed greatsword. Isha is your rogue/mage that does ranged damage.

Aside from looting, stabbing, and shooting your enemies, you will also be spending a lot of time building the town in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. This is where the settlement building aspect of the gameplay kicks in, which involves gathering and managing resources.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising release date and play for free

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising will release on 10th May 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Interestingly, you will be able to play Eiyuden Chronicle Rising for free if you're a Game Pass subscriber.
