Emilia Clarke teams up with Jacksepticeye for charity stream

Sean "Jacksepticeye" McLoughlin hosted a live stream on Friday alongside Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke to raise donations for SameYou, a charity founded by Emilia Clarke supporting rehabilitation and recovery care for young adults after brain injury and stroke. The charity was founded following her own experiences with brain aneursyms during the filming of Game of Thrones.

Having launched the campaign less than two weeks ago with an initial 0,000 goal, the livestream started with ,000 raised. The total at the time of writing sits at 5,867 and donations can be made until tomorrow (1st October).

The duo streamed together for over two hours, with highlights including Emilia being introduced to the word 'yeet', her story about meeting Beyonce (twice) and Jacksepticeye donning a Jon Snow costume complete with wig for a portion of the show.

Pins are a regular feature of Jacksepticeye's monthly charity streams and this was no different. A pin featuring a dragon flying over a brain was a collaboration with Emilia Clarke's team and is still available for just under £10 on Jacksepticeye's website.

This is the second time the internet has come together this year in a big way to raise money for SameYou. Following the controversial final season of Game of Thrones, the r/freefolk subreddit on reddit.com started their own charity drive led by user elle_ellaria in order to show that despite fans' disappointment and some extreme reactions within the community, the fans loved the cast and crew and could spread something positive. After the campaign raised over £80,000, Emilia Clarke personally thanked them in a video posted to Instagram.
