The cult classic MMORPG Guild Wars 2 developed by ArenaNet is finally hitting the digital shelves this month via Steam and it's a date you definitely need to jot down on your calendar. The game will be released with tons of extra added content to celebrate its 10th anniversary, and with everything that's coming, you don't want to miss it.

Below we'll take a look at all the details of Guild Wars 2 as it releases on Steam for its 10th anniversary and the awesome content we can expect to see once the game drops. So let's knuckle down, get hyped, and dive right in.

Guild Wars 2 will be releasing on 23rd August at 7 pm GMT / 12 pm PT via Steam, and for those looking to grab it now, you can pre-order it through its official Steam page. And to twist your arm, even more, to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary, ArenaNet has thrown in tons of great content to make it worthwhile.

The game will be released as a core free version of Guild Wars 2 to experience, with the option to upgrade to Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™, Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire™, and Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons™ from day one. However, for those who can toss a penny ArenaNet's way, you can purchase what is known as the Complete Collection bundle that includes Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons, and Living World Seasons 2 through 5 as Living World Season 1 is free for everyone.

To get everyone in the celebratory mood, the game will be made available for Twitch Drops, and trust us, you won't want to miss these streams. Players can earn exclusive in-game character rewards such as classic outfits, experience boosters, and even a unique Glowing Purple Mask cosmetic by watching their favorite streamers play Guild Wars 2 on Twitch. The first Twitch Drop rewards campaign begins on 23rd August and ends on 28th August.

Last but not least, to show some love to the community that’s supported them all these years, ArenaNet has created a new series of achievements waiting for you that will take you on a journey to experience the best of Guild Wars 2. Because these achievements are permanent additions to the game, our new Steam friends will be able to progress on them as they explore Tyria at their own pace.
