Update on 12th August: Game developers Avalanche Software have revealed that Hogwarts Legacy will release for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on 10th February 2023. The Nintendo Switch launch date will be revealed at a later time as the devs "need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience."

Original article continues: Fans who are excited for the release of Hogwarts Legacy have been patiently waiting for its release that was scheduled for later this year. But a recent leak might hint at the possibility of the game coming even sooner than initially thought.

A Store Update Leaks Hogwarts Legacy Release Date

A recent Reddit thread posted by Amazon UK customers who pre-ordered an art book for Hogwarts Legacy reported that the placeholder for the release date of the book that had initially been for the 31st December 22, was updated to the 6ht December 2022. This new date is a Tuesday and is a more common day for video games to release, giving fans some hope that the release date has been moved up.

These customers also received emails about the book's release date changing so it's been confirmed that this isn't a delivery date bug or error on the site. As pointed out by another Reddit User, one of Warner Bros. other titles, Gotham Knights, is also set to release alongside an artbook, making it likely that Warner is doing the same with Hogwarts legacy.

Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. have also given us a confirmation by reassuring fans that any rumors of Hogwarts Legacy being delayed aren’t true, and it’s still on track to release this year. So the game is still on track in terms of its estimated release, and a bump up in the schedule wouldn't be a surprise at all.

Additionally, other news outlets reported that they have seen the emails regarding Amazon changing the date for the artbooks release. And the fact that most games tend to release in the earlier parts of the month, there does seem to be more grounds to expect an earlier release than an end-of-year one.

Naturally, this is all still speculation, and until we have confirmation from Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. we should keep the speculative nature of this news in mind. However, as more information is released we will be updating you all accordingly.
