In the opening match, Atlanta Reign took on the Korean/Chinese hybrid team of Hangzhou Spark. They had been knocked into the loser's bracket by New York Excelsior last week with a 4-2 scoreline, giving New York some difficulty, and keeping it pretty tight throughout, but unfortunately couldn't do the same against Hangzhou. They lost 4-0, but they did manage to keep it tight on Temple of Anubis Assault and Watchpoint: Gibraltar Escort. Ultimately, though, their efforts weren't enough and Atlanta will not be represented any further in the Season 2 Overwatch League playoffs.

On the other side of the bracket, Los Angeles Gladiators also lost their Winner's Semifinals matchup 4-2, falling to the loser's bracket at the hands of Vancouver Titans in a matchup not as close as that between New York and Atlanta.

In the loser's bracket, however, they also met the same fate as Atlanta: a 4-0 loss. One of this season's standout teams and perennial runners-up, San Francisco Shock, took down the gladiators with relative ease, and are now set to face each other for a spot in the Loser's Bracket Final, where they will face the loser of Vancouver Titans and New York Excelsior.

Atlanta and Los Angeles will next play in February when Season 3 kicks off, which also happens to be the first OWL season to feature home and away matches for each franchise.

Who do you think is going to get the win at Season 2 playoffs? With London Spitfire eliminated in the opening round, we're guaranteed a new Champion this year, with Vancouver Titans, New York Excelsior, Hangzhou Spark and San Francisco Shock still in the running. The winner's final takes place tonight, September 13, at 4pm PDT/7PM EST/12am BST.
