Mafia 2 and 3 Definitive Editions are out now, Mafia 1 remake coming this summer

If you already own original Mafia games, they will be replaced with Definitive Edition for free!
Mafia 2 and 3 Definitive Editions are out now, Mafia 1 remake coming this summer

After several months of rumours, leaks and speculations, Mafia: Trilogy was officially revealed last week.

Publisher 2K Games promised more details for today, but most of it was leaked already, and a "surprise" release today wasn't exactly a big secret.

Mafia 2 and 3 Definitive Editions are already available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC(Steam), and later they will come to Epic Store and Google Stadia.

On the other hand, Mafia: Definitive Edition requires much more work, and it will be released this summer (28 August).

That's because developer Hangar 13 is working on a complete remake of the game, which includes a new engine, an updated script, additional cutscenes, and even new story elements and gameplay features.

As you can see in the trailer, the game looks absolutely gorgeous and for fans will surely be a delight to revisit Lost Heaven, and once again play as Tommy Angelo.

Mafia 2 Definitive Edition is "just" a remaster, not a complete remake. It is available now on Steam, Xbox One and PS4, and if you already own the original game, you will get this upgrade for free, you don't need to pay for it.

HDR and 4K resolution are supported(PC, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Xbox One X), and the game also features "improved facial animations to give cutscenes an even more cinematic feel."

Mafia II: Definitive Edition includes all additional story content (The betrayal of Jimmy, Jimmy's Vendetta, and Joe's Adventures), as well as various bonus outfits and vehicles.

Finally, Mafia III is the newest game in the series, and as such Definitive Edition doesn't feature some special upgrades, except those that were already added in Deluxe Edition of the game from a few years ago.

It includes all improvements, fixes and post-launch content, including all three DLC stories, and some added features like extra outfits and weapons, along with New Bordeaux racing challenges.

As with Mafia II, if you already own Mafia III Deluxe Edition, you will get Define Edition for free.

You can buy Mafia: Trilogy Bundle or you can opt to buy them individually. There are some extra goodies if you choose to preorder Mafia Trilogy, including a new outfit, vehicle and weapon skin.

If you choose to create a free 2K account, you will get Black Cats Motorcycle Pack, Made Man Pack, The Classico Outfit, and IL Duca Handgun.
