Upcoming Indie "Cozy Horror" Game The Midnight Walk Is Officially Steam Deck Compatible

It's officially launch day for developer Moonhood Studios as their "cozy horror" release, The Midnight Walk, launches for PlayStation 5 consoles, PS VR2, and PCs via Steam. The indie dark adventure game was first unveiled at the State of Play presentation in September 2024, where the developer showcased its clay motion stylized gameplay design through its reveal trailer.

The developer had recently made one final announcement ahead of the game's launch for those looking to pick up the game through Steam at launch. This may entice PC players to grab the game upon its release as a launch day discount will be available until 14th May 2025 through Steam.

According to a recent developer announcement posted on the game's Steam News page, players acquiring The Midnight Walk via Steam can bring their dark and misguided adventures on the go! While the game is awaiting its verification status, which should be "approved soon," Steam Deck owners will be able to run and play The Midnight Walk on the handheld device as the developer has "tested the game" and is "happy to report that it runs well!"

With The Midnight Walk compatible with running on Steam Deck devices at launch, those who haven't pre-ordered or added the game to their Wishlist can purchase the game via Steam using its launch day discount. "Embark on your adventure starting 8th May and enjoy a 10% launch discount, ending 14th May" to celebrate the game's release week, which players can enjoy The Midnight Walk on PC and Steam Deck if they own the latter.

The Midnight Walk sees players stepping "into a handcrafted world and journey through five eerie tales of fire, guiding your little lantern friend, Potboy, while outsmarting the flame-eating monsters lurking in the shadows." As The Burnt One, the game's protagonist, players embark on a dark journey to find their purpose through a lantern-like creature named Potboy that they must "reignite and bring back to life" by navigating down the Midnight Walk, face the dangers that lie await and be acquainted with eerily friendly companions in this "handcrafted world."
