The New War is a major cinematic quest in Warframe in which the Sentinents go to war against the Tenno in the hopes of taking complete control of the Origins System. It was first released in December 2021 alongside update 31 and takes about 6 hours to finish. 

If you're new to Warframe, know that the New War is also one of the prerequisites for accessing the game's upcoming cinematic quest, Whispers in the Walls. With that said, here's how to start the New War in Warframe. 

How To Begin The New War Quest In Warframe

To start the New War in Warframe, you first need to finish the following quests in the game. 

  • Natah
  • The Second Dream
  • The War Within
  • Chains of Harrow
  • Apostasy Prologue
  • The Sacrifice
  • Chimera Prologue
  • Erra
  • The Maker
  • Rising Tide
  • Heart of Deimos

You must also have a Railjack and a Necramech, which you should be able to forge after completing quests Rising Tide and Heart of Deimos, respectively.

Once you have finished the aforementioned quests, the New War should be available to start in the Quests section. Do note that once you activate this quest, you won't be able to access other parts of the game, so make sure you have the right Warframe and loadout equipped before you start the quest.
