Riot Games doesn't want League of Legends: Wild Rift, the mobile version of the popular MOBA, to feel like a derivated toned-down experience, adding a brand-new mechanic called Nemesis Duel.

Acting as special events during regular 5v5 matches, the Nemesis Duel looks to settle who's the best between two fierce opponents that face each other in the Summoner's Rift.

Here's everything you need to know about what a Nemesis Duel is in Wild Rift.

Explained in the official Wild Rift blog, the Nemesis Duel is a unique mechanic involving two Champions who have a long-standing rivalry, with rewards and bragging rights on the line.

Wild Rift Nemesis Duel - Champions

As of the time of writing, only two Champions can activate a Nemesis Duel, Rengar and Kha'Zix.

These two Champions must be on opposite teams for the Nemesis Duel to trigger, however, there's more to it than just character selection.

As we've said, selection the correct Champions is not enough, a few other steps must be followed, detailed as follows:

To win a Nemesis Duel, you must do damage to the opposing Champion up to three seconds before its death. Even if another teammate gets the kill, as long as you secure damage, you'll win.

The rewards are as follows:

  • If Rengar proves he's king of the jungle, he'll automatically gain Ferocity during his ultimate—Thrill of the Hunt.
  • If Kha'Zix emerges as the apex predator, he unlocks an extra evolution point.
