EA Sports WRC will feature many exhilarating gaming modes, including Moments and Builder, to pivotal features like accessibility options and multiplayer play. One feature that will undoubtedly surprise and excite rally enthusiasts is the introduction of a VR mode, according to the game's listing on Steam.
While not one of the most requested features, the developer has made it possible for players to "feel the pure adrenaline of rally" right from the driver's seat. This guide discusses everything about VR Mode, including supported platforms and when it will be available for EA Sports WRC.
Will There Be VR Mode And Support For EA Sports WRC?
Yes, the game's VR mode will arrive in the game post-launch, with a date to be announced later, according to its Steam listing. Likewise, the VR mode is listed as a PC exclusive as of writing, and we've yet to confirm if all VR peripherals are to be supported on PC
This may be disheartening news for PlayStation VR players for the time being who were hoping to see the game support VR on the platform. However, as we approach the game's launch for console and PC on 3rd November 2023, there's ample time for the developer to provide an update on VR support for PlayStation.
If VR support were available for PlayStation 5, EA Sports WRC would directly compete with Gran Turismo 7 as the other racing game with PSVR2 support. As for other racing games, it's still being determined if The Crew Motorfest will have this feature available, and it's well known that Forza Motorsport doesn't have a VR mode or support available before its launch.
While there's not much information on the complete scope of VR support of EA Sports WRC on PC and whether support for PlayStation VR is part of the roadmap, there have been great strides in developing VR experiences in-game. For now, PC players can anticipate the arrival of VR to EA Sports WRC post-launch as we await the developer to announce a release date, features, and optimizations included with the game's VR mode.
EA Sports WRC will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the EA Windows app, Epic Games Store, and Steam on 3rd November 2023. If you pre-order the game's digital version, they'll receive additional content, including the three-day Early Access available from 31st October 2023.
