Fans have been long-awaiting the release of Bloober Team and Konami's Silent Hill 2 remake, and fans have finally got some definitive news about a release date in a recent update from Bloober Team's CEO, Piotr Babieno. At GPW Innovation Day in Poland, Babieno said to the investors in attendance, "Silent Hill 2 is in the final stage of work. The title will debut on the market this year. We should see more marketing information soon, including the release date."

Bloober Team and Konami have been quite secretive about the Silent Hill 2 remake since it was announced during the Silent Hill Transmission last year, with very little information being shared about the upcoming game. So far, the only official information about the game to be released was in a combat trailer shared a few months ago by Konami, which Bloober Team said did not properly represent the game. The title has also already received official ESRB ratings, suggesting that it's nearly complete and ready to hit shelves whenever Konami is ready to release it.

In addition to those official update, fans also noticed some recent changes to the game's Steam page, switching up the face of iconic main character James Sunderland after many fans complained that he didn't look true to his original appearance. This has been the first major change to the Steam page in a long time, suggesting that the game's release date might be closer than many fans originally thought.

As the game's release date nears, it's likely that marketing will quickly ramp up and we'll get a more specific release date from the game's developers. For now, fans will have to wait just a little longer to try out Silent Hill 2, which will be a PS5 and PC-exclusive for its first year. Then, it'll be available on other consoles.
