First up, the build info we are talking about is in the bottom-left corner of your screen. This info is basically the date/time when the latest Counter-Strike 2 update was released. While it is far away from any heads you might want to click, some players find this annoying and want a completely clear screen.

  • Launch Counter-Strike 2 via Steam.
  • Open the dev console using the tilde key "~" on your keyboard. It is generally located on the left side of your keyboard next to the "1" key.
  • Type in "r_show_build_info false"
  • Press Enter.

Congratulations, you've hidden the build info in CS2! To revert back and show it again, follow the same steps above but use the command line "r_show_build_info true". It is as simple as that!

Check out our guide if you have not enabled the dev console in Counter-Strike 2. There's also a way to reset the CS2 dev console if it is enabled, but it appears to be missing. You'll find two important CS2 guides below, where you can use commands to fix input delay/latency and check your latency by enabling the net graph.

Keep in mind that if you want to submit a report to Valve about some kind of Counter-Strike 2 bug, you will need to enable the build info text again, as the developers will want to see which version of the game you experienced an issue in.
