Lily Pichu Joins YouTube Gaming After Streaming 10 Years On Twitch

On 7th July 2022, famous internet icon and OfflineTV content creator Lily Pichu sent shock waves across the internet after she announced her decision to move from Twitch to stream exclusively on the competitor platform YouTube Gaming. This latest move comes after roughly a decade of streaming on Twitch and a mass exodus of high-profile creators from the Amazon-owned streaming platform in the last few years.

Lily Pichu Leaves Twitch For YouTube Gaming

Over the ten years she's been streaming, Lily Pichu has amassed over 2.5 million followers on Twitch. During this time, she joined OfflineTV as a content creator alongside fellow streaming icons Pokimane, Scarra, and others; she’s even voiced Sayu from Genshin Impact.

The content creator revealed her decision to switch to YouTube Gaming in a Twitter video titled “Big Decision.” The video highlighted how difficult it was to choose between both platforms, especially after spending much of her life on Twitch.

The now-former Twitch streamer left her fate in the paws of her two beloved pups, Temmie and DaVinky, setting down a purple bowl of food and a red snack with YouTube’s logo on top to determine with which platform she would sign. Followingly, Temmie rushed to the red snack, solidifying Lily Pichu’s transition to YouTube Gaming.

Further in her Twitter thread, Lily Pichu thanked her community and Twitch for their unwavering support throughout her streaming career. “Thank you for supporting me. I had so much fun on Twitch; I can't wait to have just as much fun on YouTube,” she said.

The streamer’s decision to switch to YouTube Gaming follows the announcements of several other OfflineTV creators and internet personalities in the last few years. Indeed, this latest move could symbolize a shift in the future of preferred streaming platforms, should more highly influential creators continue to shift gears.

For example, Sykkuno and Valkyrae currently stream on YouTube Gaming and have been joined by ex-Twitch gaming personalities TimTheTatman, DrLupo, and DrDisrespect, who now also call the platform their home. Indeed, these names are only a few of the many joining YouTube Gaming. 

However, Lily Pichu’s decision was a shock, especially considering she spent about a decade on Twitch. Still, considering the serious amount of cash YouTube is (presumably) willing to put into exclusive contracts, convincing Lily Pichu to join them might not have been too difficult. However, sadly, we’ll never truly know.

Lily Pichu’s first YouTube Gaming stream kicked off on 8th July 2022 from her hotel room in Japan. Her stream followed the OfflineTV tour across Japan, where she shared her experiences exploring the country. It also comes right after OfflineTV’s debut appearance at Anime Expo, which spanned from 1st to 4th July 2022.
