Apex Legends season 6 launches August 18, includes Rampart legend, crafting system, Volt SMG, and more

Apex Legends Season 6 launches in less than two weeks and along with it comes a new legend, a new gun, and the ability to craft.

Apex Legends Season 6 starts on 18th August, and it will introduce a new legend, Rampart. Respawn describes her as "an expert modder who made her name in underground fight clubs," and that although she talks big, she "has the ballistics to back it up."

Rampart was the star of the show in Apex Legends Season 6 launch trailer, where she shoots what looks to be a Gatling gun nicknamed Sheila.

Rampart looks fantastic, but she's not the only thing generating a lot of hype. Apex Legends Season 6 also introduces a new crafting system. Players will be able to collect materials around the map and build something better. But we still don't know what kind of gear you'll be able to craft, and which materials you'll need to craft them.

The crating system is a welcome change and one that will add more depth and complexity to the game. There are even rumours that the armour system will get an overhaul, which could include all players starting with Evo Shields.

But that’s not all. For all the people hoping for a new weapon, Respawn has got you covered. Apex Legends Season 6 introduces a new weapon called Volt. It's an SMG that uses Energy Ammo, and apparently, it packs quite a punch.

The new season also means there is a new battle pass, which includes more than 100 exclusive items ranging from skins and packs to holo-sprays and more. There’s something for everyone and a lot of it.

And of course, a new season means the ranks reset once again. Players will need to start again from scratch and embark on the daily grind to work their way back to the top. But that’s what it’s all about, right?
