Atomic Heart Console Graphics Modes For PS5 & Xbox Series X/S

Atomic Heart is coming in hot on PC and consoles on 21 February 2023, as gamers across the globe will jump into the alt-history open world as the protagonist P-3, and we simply can't wait to play it. One thing console gamers might want to know is how the game runs on PlayStation and Xbox, which graphics modes/options there will be for Atomic Heart on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Atomic Heart PS5 & Xbox Series X Graphics Modes & Targets

Thanks to an interview with Mundfish Founder and Game Director Robert Bagratuni from WCCF Tech, we have important information about Atomic Heart's PS5 and Xbox Series X graphics mode and performance targets.

Yes, we said "graphics mode," not "modes", as Atomic Heart will only feature one mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The performance on PS5 and Xbox Series X is dynamic 4K at 60 FPS, with some parts in the game even featuring "native 4K". Here's what Robert Bagratuni said:

We worked a lot on optimization for consoles, providing one graphical mode with dynamic 4K 60FPS and even native 4K with a solid 60FPS in some parts of the game. We're also looking to continue to bring more performance enhancements in the future and will keep you posted when we do.

The performance target is great, and while some console gamers might want a quality mode further to increase graphics fidelity at a lower 30 FPS, this will not be the case for Atomic Heart at launch.

Atomic Heart Xbox Series S Graphics/Performance

The only current-gen console with significantly lower specs is the Xbox Series S, of course. This cheaper version always has lower performance or graphics in AAA titles, and Atomic Heart is no different.

The developers have confirmed that the Xbox Series S graphics/performance target is Full HD (1080p) at 60 FPS.

Atomic Heart Performance on PS4/Xbox One?

At the time of writing, there's no details on Atomic Heart's console performance on previous gen systems, namely PS4 and Xbox One family of consoles. 

We do expect a dynamic resolution of 1080p and 30 FPS on the PS4 and Xbox One, and maybe a bit of a higher resolution on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, but that is just as a guestimate as previous-gen console performance for Atomic Heart has not been revealed just yet.
