Activision has released the roadmap for Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone and it is absolutely packed with content.

Featuring multiple new maps for the standard multiplayer mode, as well as a slew of new additions for Zombies, Season 3 looks to have something for everyone.

But having said that there is one thing we are all here for and that is what is coming to Warzone. Rumours have been flying about what we could expect and many have hoped that a brand new map would soon be replacing Verdansk.

While those hopes may be slightly off the mark, it does look like major changes are coming to the map with a "map update" promised with the Zombies that have been running riot in Season 2 set to get even more ferocious.

There will also be six new weapons available in Warzone either on launch week or made available at the midway point of the season.

Here is everything you need to know about Warzone Season 3.

The season will go live following updates to Black Ops Cold War on 20nd April at 9 pm PT and to Warzone on 21st April at 9 pm PT.

The "Hunt for Adler" event will task players with in-game challenges in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

Complete Intel Challenges to unlock event rewards including Weapon Charms, Calling Cards, a new Operator skin, and much more.

Once you complete a full set of Adler challenges you will unlock an Adler skin available to use in both BOCW and Warzone.

Six new weapons

A total of six new weapons will be added to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone in Season 3.

They include:

  • PPSh-41 SMG (Launch Week)
  • Swiss K31: Sniper Rifle (Launch Week)
  • Ballistic Knife: Melee (Launch Week for CW, mid-season for Warzone)
  • CARV.2: Tactical Rifle (In-Season)
  • AMP63: Pistol (In-Season)
  • Baseball Bat: Melee (In-Season)

The most exciting of these is likely the PPSh-41, a mainstay in Call of Duty games getting this into Warzone and putting it up against the Mac-10 is a mouthwatering prospect.

Another interesting addition is the Swiss K31 (pictured above), a new gun in the world of Call of Duty and one that looks a natural competitor to the Kar98. Whether it will be able to dislodge the latter, which has proven itself over decades, remains to be seen but it will be fun trying.

Map update - Operation Rapid Sunder

Exactly how the map is set to update is not clear though the developers claim that the situation in Verdansk, which has seen a Gas infect large areas turning players into Zombies, is now reaching "critical" levels.

Players have been told to "clear your schedule" for launch week with Operation Rapid Sunder set to launch on Wednesday, 21st April at 12 pm PT / 3 pm ET / 7 pm GMT.

More information is expected to be released at that time.

Three new Operators and the "return" of Price

Season 3 will get three new Operators, all representing the Warzaw Pact: Wraith, Knight and Antonov.

Wraith will be joining the fray from launch week, while the other two will be adding throughout the course of the season.

You can get access to Wraith for use in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone at Tier 0 in the Season Three Battle Pass, and unlock an additional Legendary Wraith Operator Skin at Tier 100.

Price is also making a Black Ops Cold War appearance, Price '84 is joining the fray.
