Everything you need to know about the new Clash Royale card, Skeleton Dragons, including how to unlock and use efficiently.
Clash Royale Skeleton Dragons - How to unlock, strengths and weaknesses

On 5th June, a new Clash Royale card unlocks for Season 12. With every new card, the meta has the potential to change, and the Clash Royale Skeleton Dragons card definitely seems to be powerful enough to make an impact.

It's always fun to unlock a new card in Clash Royale, and use it in friendly battles or on the ladder. Here's what you need to know about Skeleton Dragons, including how to unlock, level up, and use in the Arena.

Skeleton Dragons - How to unlock and level up

Starting on 5th June, new special challenges will be available to join. With these challenges, players will be able to unlock the Skeleton Dragons card.

There are two challenges to compete in, namely:

Introducing Skeleton Dragons - This special challenge doesn't actually reward you with any cards. Instead, Skeleton Dragons will spawn in the arena so players can get used to their effects.

Skeleton Dragons Draft Challenge - Once you achieve four wins in the introduction, you will be able to join the Skeleton Dragons Draft Challenge. You need three wins in this challenge in order to unlock your first Skeleton Dragons card. At six wins, you get another 250 cards, and then again at eight wins.

For those without a Clash Royale premium pass, you will need to get those wins without incurring three losses. If you do tap out before getting the card, you can always purchase another entry with gems.

The Skeleton Dragons card can also be unlocked in Arena 10 Hog Mountain, and after you've received your first card, you will be able to gain more from opening chests, or trading with your clanmates.

The card is of "Common" quality, meaning it should be quite easy to level up once you find it.

Skeleton Dragons - Strengths and weaknesses

The Skeleton Dragons card could be very useful in the Arena, but as every Clash Royale card, it also has its weaknesses.

Before we get to what the card is good against, and what it's not, check out the Skeleton Dragons stats below. The HP and damage stats are per dragon.

While the Skeleton Dragons stats might change slightly on release, or shortly afterwards as Supercell continues to balance the card, it is clear this is a high damage, low HP card.

The Skeleton Dragons are glass cannons, but they can be very useful against certain setups.

Skeleton Dragons strengths:

  • When behind a tank, the Skeleton Dragons can dish out a lot of splash damage to both air and ground units.
  • Skeleton Dragons are extremely strong against hordes of enemies, for example, Skeletons Army, Barbarians, Goblin Gangs and Minion Horde cards, as they deal splash damage.
  • Skeleton Dragons are strongest when they are together.
  • Relatively low cost (4) with a decent range on their attacks.

Skeleton Dragons weaknesses:

  • If the two dragons get split up, they are much weaker.
  • Units such as Princess, Rocketeer, Magic Archer, and Musketeer counter Skeleton Dragons.
  • They are weak against buildings if they do not have tank support.
  • Fireball is an effective way to blow them up, and also costs 4 elixir to use.

It will be interesting to see how this new Clash Royale card shakes up the meta. By the looks of it, the card could be very useful, if used in the correct situations.
