How To Perform Upgrades On Tools In Conan Exiles?

For tools, especially, performing upgrades are always permanent, except for oils which can prevent further deterioration of these tools. Likewise, only one upgrade can be applied to a tool for which, if you wish to remove them, the Prying Kit will help remove the upgrade without destroying the tool.

This can be helpful as it won’t require you to craft duplicated tools, but there is a slight issue with using the Prying Kit as it will decrease its durability, for which the Reinforcement Kits can help mitigate this. There are a few ways to upgrade tools, with the first being the more commonly accepted method: visit the Tinker’s Bench.

If you have upgraded your Tinker Thralls, it will significantly improve the quality of your tool by increasing its Strength and Durability stats. But if you’re nowhere near the Tinker Thrall, crafting an upgrade kit can help you upgrade tools on the go.

There are three tool upgrade kit tiers: Simple Tool Upgrade, Tool Upgrade, and Advanced tool Upgrade Kits. These upgrades will increase the resources acquired for each swing by one, two, and three, which is hugely helpful, especially when embarking on a farming run.

To craft the Simple Tool Upgrade Kit, you’ll need to achieve the Apprentice Weaponsmith Knowledge, granting your blueprints for various tools and kits, including the Simple Tool Upgrade Kit. Additionally, you’ll need ten Iron Bars to craft and use successfully; you can access them from your Inventory and drag the kit to the tool.

Finally, crafting and using the Simple Tool Upgrade Kit is required to achieve the Tinkerer Journey path. Completing this and the remaining steps will help you unlock the Prying Kit, which can remove upgrades from weapons, tools, and armor sets.
