New CS:GO update fixes Deagle, makes huge changes to Vertigo, and more

Valve has deployed a jumping accuracy fix for Deagle, made Vertigo better for CT, and made changes to Train in the new CS:GO update.
New CS:GO update fixes Deagle, makes huge changes to Vertigo, and more

In the early hours of the morning on 17th April 2020, Valve heard the outcries of those who have succumbed to players jumping around the corner, landing headshots with the Desert Eagle on their foes. The new CS:GO update brings a jumping accuracy fix for the Deagle, a tonne of map changes, improvements, and more.

First up, the new CS:GO update notes, in terms of the Deagle, only explains: "Added a new weapon parameter “inaccuracy jump apex”, set to 331.55 for the Deagle". Many newer players might not fully understand what this means, so allow us to explain.

With this change, Valve created a parameter pertaining to the apex of the jump, telling the accuracy of the Deagle to go all over the place when the player is at the very top of their jump. Basically, jump shots with the Deagle is now much harder to pull off, making this a big, much-needed nerf.

This CS:GO update comes less than a week after the update which nerfed the Krieg, and buffed the Deagle.

Valve continues to put its focus on Vertigo, and in the new CS:GO update, Bombsite B has seen a massive overhaul. There's a complete redesign of its layout, entrance, and cover areas.

The window in mid has also been closed off, and Valve decided to move the sandbags closer to the CT spawn. This change means there is a new mid-to-B entrance which drops players into the back of Bombsite B. Then, the wall you could shoot through at A has been replace with metal fencing, which means there is more cover for CTs.

Twitter user Ryan Randall made a short video of the for Vertigo in the new CS:GO update.

Apart from the Deagle nerf, and the huge changes to Vertigo, Valve also made a number of changes, as well as fixes to several maps. Further, the new CS:GO update adds one-on-one warmup arenas, added the ability to see crosshairs of players you are observing, and has some general fixes thrown into the mix. Check out the full update notes.
