How To Unlock New Maps In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

There are three maps to progress through in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, but they won't all be available from the start. Here's how to unlock them all.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor sends you and your chosen dwarf on a mission to mine for precious minerals, while taking out swarms of alien bugs. Each of the game's three maps has its own challenges, tasking players with eliminating each level's Elite bug before taking on the powerful Dreadnought.

But the maps won't all be available from the start. Instead, players will need to unlock them as they progess. Below, we'll tell you exactly how to unlock each of the maps in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor.

How To Unlock Every Map In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

How To Unlock All Crystalline Caverns Hazard Levels

Players will start Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor with one map unlocked: Crystalline Caverns. This will be a map that you'll quickly become familiar with until you unlock the next one. 

Crystalline Caverns has five Hazard Levels, which dicates how challenging the level will be. To unlock more Hazard Levels, you simply need to earn the required amount of Player Levels, which are earned by completing map objectives.

Hazard 1

  • Complete the dive
  • Upgrade Deepcore GK2 to Level 12
  • Collect 200 Gold

Hazard 2

  • Complete the dive
  • Equip 4 Kinetic weapons
  • Upgrade "Lead Storm" Powered Minigun to Level 12

Hazard 3

  • Complete the dive
  • Collect 30 Red Sugar
  • Upgrade "Warhog" Auto 210 to Level 12

Hazard 4

  • Complete the dive
  • Mine 2,000 blocks of Rock and Stone
  • Reach Level 55 with the Recon Scout

Hazard 5

How To Unlock Magma Core Map & Hazard Levels

The second map you'll be able to unlock is Magma Core. You can do this by earning more Player Levels and completing objectives on Crystalline Caverns. Like the previous map, Magma Core has five Hazard Levels to work your way through.

Hazard 1

  • Complete the dive
  • Collect 20 Red Sugar
  • Reach Level 25 with the Gunner

Hazard 2

  • Complete the dive
  • Collect 150 Nitra
  • Upgrade LMG Gun Platform to Level 10

Hazard 3

  • Complete the dive
  • Mine 1,000 blocks of Rock and Stone
  • Upgrade Voltaic Stun Sweeper to Level 21

Hazard 4

  • TBD

Hazard 5

  • TBD

How To Unlock Hollow Bough Map & Hazard Levels

The final level you'll unlock is Hollow Bough, arguably the trickiest of the three maps due to its regrowing vegetation that cuts off paths. Earning Player Levels and completing objectives across Magma Core (and Crystalline Caverns) is the key to unlocking this map.

Hazard 1

  • Complete the dive
  • Mine 750 regenerating vines
  • Reach Level 30 with the Engineer

Hazard 2

  • Complete the dive
  • Collect 100 Nitra
  • Upgrade CRSPR Flamethrower to Level 18

Hazard 3

  • Complete the dive
  • Collect 500 Gold
  • Upgrade BRT7 Burst Fire Gun to Level 21

Hazard 4
