Destiny Season of the Splicer: Start time, Vault of Glass, new exotics, roadmap and more

With Season of the Chosen almost behind us, Bungie gave Destiny 2 players a glimpse of what's to come on Season 14, officially called Season of the Splicer.

The third season of Year 4 which started with the release of the Beyond Light expansion, has been a hit or miss in the eyes of hardcore players, and Bungie will look to redeem themselves with the upcoming Season of the Splicer.

So what can we expect from it? Well, let's take a look at everything you need to know down below.

Season of the Splicer - Start date

Season 14 of Destiny 2 will begin next 11th May during the regular Tuesday weekly reset at 10:00am PT/6:00pm GMT.

It's expected to end on 24th August, giving players over three months to enjoy all the new activities Season of the Splicer brings along with it.

Season of the Splicer - Vault of Glass

Bungie gave details a few days before the Season 14 unveil regarding the return of the Vault of Glass, so be sure to check our breakdown on it.

In short, it's coming back on 22nd May with whole new unrevealed changes to spice things up for veteran Guardians looking to tackle the Vex structure once more.

Season of the Splicer - Seasonal activities

As usual, Season 14 will bring two new activities, a matchmade PvE experience, which will now be a six-man activity, and a weekly mission for players to grind and get exclusive gear from.

Override

This six-player activity will see players hack the Vex network in order to restore the Last City's peace during trying times. No specifics around the mechanics were revealed.

Expunge

The weekly pinnacle mission sees Guardians trying to take down Vex simulations, using Splicer keys to bring it down. Again, no specifics were revealed.

Keep in mind that to participate in both you'll need the Season 14 season pass.

Season of the Splicer - Armor Synthesis

The controversial implementation of the transmog system, called Armor Synthesis in Destiny 2, will arrive with Season 14, players can expect a serious grind in order to make the most out of it.

Season of the Splicer - Roadmap

Finally here's a look at all key dates in Season of the Splicer, some noteworthy dates:

• 11th May - Season begins. Includes the intro mission and new Override activity
• 22nd May - Vault of Glass raid opens
• 25th May - Weekly pinnacle mission begins
• 6th July - Solstice of Heroes begins
