How to get The Title SMG in Destiny 2

After plenty of excitement during Season of the Risen, which included the release of the new Destiny 2 expansion, The Witch Queen, a new raid, and more gear to chase, Bungie is ready to close out the season with a more laid back event for the entire community to enjoy: the Guardian Games.

As is customary, players will be able to earn some nice ornaments, but more importantly, a brand-new and exclusive weapon that'll only be available while the event is active.

With Guardian Games starting on 3rd May, The Title SMG will be up for grabs. With new additions to how weapons work starting with The Witch Queen, The Title will feature some nice perks and Origin Traits to make it stand out from the rest of submachine guns. 

How to get The Title SMG in Destiny 2

To get access to your first The Title SMG, you'll need to complete the Best In Class Quest. It's essentially an introductory quest to how the Guardian Games work for new players, so don't expect it to be a tedious grind like other, more nuanced missions the game has to offer. 

From then other Title SMGs can drop from Guardian Games rewards that can be acquired by earning medallions.

What we do know thanks to some dataminers is the perk pool and Origin Trait that The Title SMG will boast.

Origin Traits are a new feature that debuted with The Witch Queen, giving weapons an extra perk tied to an activity or event. Since the Guardian Games are making their return for the first time in over a year, they will also boast a new Origin Trait.

• Classy Contender: Final blows with this weapon grant class ability energy. 

At first glance, this looks like an absolute powerful perk as it can be used in virtually every type of content Destiny 2 offers. Having an extra source that helps players build their class ability is always welcomed.

We can assume reissued weapons will also have this Origin Trait, but that is yet to be confirmed. Speaking exclusively about The Title SMG, as we've mentioned, it comes with a pretty interesting perk pool.

These are the ones you should be on the lookout for while grinding the event. 

• First Column: Perpetual Motion, Threat Detector, 
• Second Column: Vorpal Weapon, Swashbuckler, One for All

This SMG can drop with things like Ricochet, Armor-Piercing, and High-Caliber Rounds, so it's definitely one that's worth dedicating time to find that god roll.
