Blizzard

Are you a Nephalem stuck in Sanctuary, waiting for an official Diablo 3 roadmap or content schedule for 2024? Since the game is well over a decade old, there isn't any big new plan from the developers, but we've got the next best thing with our unofficial Diablo 3 seasonal roadmap!

Stay awhile and listen as we discuss the Diablo 3 roadmap schedule for 2024 and beyond, explaining what fans of the ARPG can expect to see.

Diablo 3 2024 Roadmap Schedule & Content

Diablo 3 Season 29 was technically the final new seasonal theme for the iconic ARPG, but that doesn't necessarily mean the fun has to end entirely. Instead of creating new content, Blizzard is utilizing a season theme rotation system, with the first example being Season 30. Diablo 3 Season 30 is based on Season 25, aka Lords of Hell, where players can collect Soul Shards for powerful effects and bonuses.

So, is there even a type of Diablo 3 schedule or loose roadmap available? Yes, which we'll discuss by answering some questions below, and providing you with details such as start times for new seasons, and returning events.

Is New Diablo 3 Content Coming in 2024?

No, we do not expect any new Diablo 3 content in 2024 or beyond. You can only expect "a mix and match of previous cosmetics and features that made up previous Seasons," so if you haven't experienced, for example, Season 19 content with the Eternal Conflict theme, you might get another chance in a later Diablo 3 season.

How Long Are Diablo 3 Seasons?

Diablo 3 seasonal length has varied quite a lot over the years, from 70 odd days to nearly six months. With the new Season theme rotation system, Blizzard reintroduces old seasons. With no new content and old seasonal content getting utilized, we expect each Diablo 3 season to last roughly four months going forward, with the transition between Season 29 and Season 30 being the only current example.

We do expect the Diablo 3 Darkening of Tristram event to return on 31 December 2024. The annual event will see cultists spawn on 31 December, and then, on 3 January 2025, portals will open to Tristram, and players can once again explore the depths of the iconic cathedral in glorious RetroVision!

By competing in the Darkening of Tristram event in Diablo 3, players can earn several cosmetic rewards. Check out the list of rewards below.

  • Butcher pet
  • Royal Calf pet
  • The Butcher’s Cleaver weapon transmog
  • Wirt’s Leg weapon transmog
  • Classic Angel Portrait
  • Classic Demon Portrait
  • Dungeon completion banner

Most of these rewards can be obtained by making your way through all 16 levels in the Darkening of Tristram event.

That's everything we know about the Diablo 3 content and seasonal roadmap. The game is, of course, still being supported by Blizzard, but one has to keep in mind that it is well over a decade old at this point.
