In Capcom's massive RPG, Dragon's Dogma 2, we got really attached to some NPCs with interesting personalities, so just thinking about losing dozens of them at once feels devastating. Well, some players might want the ability to revive all dead NPCs, especially if one specific incident occurs.

Spoiler warning: Be aware that there are endgame spoilers in this article, explaining from which boss you can get an Eternal Wakestone shard.

In this guide, we explain when and how you would want to revive all dead NPCs in Dragon's Dogma 2 and how you can get the powerful Eternal Wakestone item, so let's jump in!

If Dragonsplague has caused a pawn to go crazy and slay an entire town, wreaking havoc on your game, you might want to find a way to revive all dead NPCs. First up, against popular belief, this does not ruin your Dragon's Dogma 2 save game, as NPCs do start respawning after roughly one in-game week.

Even so, players might want to revive NPCs much faster, and there are two ways. Use Wakestones to revive NPCs individually, which takes a whole lot of time and effort. Alternatively, use one Eternal Wakestone item in the town devastated by the effects of the Dragonsplague pawn to revive all dead NPCs at once.

How To Get Eternal Wakestone in Dragon's Dogma 2

Despite its name, the Eternal Wakestone is a once-off use item in Dragon's Dogma 2. It is one of the most powerful and rare items. As we've explained in the previous section of this guide, you can use it to resurrect all NPCs in a town, for example, which has been devastated by a pawn with Dragonsplague.

Heavy spoilers for a side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2 below!

To get the Eternal Wakestone in Dragon's Dogma 2, players must defeat the Sphinx, a mythical creature of immense power. We won't spoil it all for you, but you can find the Sphinx in the Worldsend Cavern. While you don't have to complete "A Game of Wits" quest and solve all the Sphinx riddles, we highly recommend you do.

Defeating the Sphinx drops the Key of Sagacity, which you can use to unlock a Golden Chest behind her and receive the Eternal Wakestone item. Now, you have the power to resurrect all NPCs in an area.

The only way to get more than one Eternal Wakestone item is to make your way through a completely new playthrough. An important note is that if you get one of the riddles incorrect, the Sphinx will disappear, never to be seen (in a playthrough) again.
