Dying Light 2 has various beneficial and valuable resources that players can obtain and sell for the right price. While many are tempted to sell anything and everything within their inventory, knowing which resources are worth selling can be a great fortune to players in-game.

Crystals are such resources that can be found at specific locations can be rewarding to sell if you know where to look. In this guide, we explore everything to know about crystals and where to find them and their importance in-game.

What are crystals in Dying Light 2: Stay Human?

Crystals are a by-product stemming from the GRE using hazardous chemicals to dispatch the Infected in Villedor. This proved to be ineffective; instead, these dumping grounds are more harmful to humans as they can kill them within seconds of exposure.

On the other hand, these dumping grounds produced rare materials or Crystals found in these chemical areas. They appear as large stalagmite-like items projecting from rock formations on the ground, which can be harvested and sold.

Since crystals are primarily found within chemical areas, they can be located near a GRE facility or any chemical areas or buildings. Players will be alerted promptly before entering a chemical area, which then your immunity level will start to deplete.

Once they have found a chemical dump, look for a rock formation and start smashing it to expose the crystal core. Interact with the formation to harvest the crystal, which can be sold at vendors depending on the crystal's rarity.

Crystals come in three colours which define their rarity. This also helps when selling them vendors as the higher the rarity, the more money they'll receive for selling them.

How does immunity factor with crystals in Dying Light 2: Stay Human?

As crystals can be found in chemical areas across the map, these zones can be detrimental to players' immunity levels over time. The longer one remains in this area; the more immunity gets depleted.

Therefore, players should be cautious and extra careful when spending too much time in these hazardous or dark areas when looking for crystals. If the immunity level becomes severely low, they risk losing their humanity and getting infected.

The best way players can combat this hazardous dilemma is to have a strategy when hunting for crystals. This could include using Skill Points earned by fighting, traversing or completing quests which can be used to upgrade specific skills or attributes.

More specifically, use the Skill Points to upgrade your parkour skills which can help decrease your chances of getting infected when in hazardous areas. Additionally, ensuring that your weapons are in good condition when harvesting crystals is essential.

With your skills upgraded and your weapons in good condition, they'll be harvesting crystals without increasing their chances of infection. Nevertheless, it would be wise if you still kept an eye on your immunity level when entering "green zones" or risk becoming Infected.
