Viral sensation Neekolul signs with 100Thieves as a content creator

In life, you never know when you're going to strike gold, with success coming from the most unexpected places. Neekolul's rise to stardom is one of the clearest examples of how one action, or in this case, one video can change your whole life.

Now her incredible breakthrough has caught the eye of 100 Thieves, with the esport organisation confirming Neekolul will be joining their ranks as a content creator.

“Neeko is an English/Spanish streamer who started on Twitch 3 years ago. She’s incredibly multi-talented and has seen tremendous success with her viral content. We love her upbeat and positive personality & are so excited to have her part of 100 Thieves,” the org stated on Twitter.

Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, CEO of the company, explained the reasoning behind the signing of the TikTok and Twitter viral sensation, citing her social media presence as a huge factor.

"We are always looking for fresh new voices to add into the mix at 100 Thieves, as well as new platforms to engage our community. We were all personal fans of Neeko’s streams and videos, and we have been continuously impressed by her success on social media, which is why we’re so excited to welcome her to 100 Thieves."

The Mexican-American streamer has been on Twitch since 2017, mostly seen playing League of Legends to a small but steady group of viewers. In March 2020, she posted a TikTok video to Twitter, lipsyncing the "Oki Doki Boomer" song while wearing a Bernie Sanders shirt.

The clip went on to position Neekolul as an internet celebrity, after it amassed 40 million views on Twitter alone, adding a couple more from TikTok itself.

In the months following the video, her reach has expanded immensely, gathering over a million followers across her different social channels (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch), with no signs of her growth stopping anytime soon.
