After the announcement of a newly created eLiga MX, a FIFA 21 competition that would mirror Mexican's Liga MX, the country's top-flight football division, fans got excited at the prospect of seeing esports take centre stage moving forward.

With a spot to compete in the North American playoffs on the road to the FIFA eWorld Cup on the line, it was safe to assume Mexico's best FIFA players would represent each of the 18 Liga MX teams, however, following Mazatlán F.C's decision to sponsor a non-FIFA player, both the team and streamer have been barraged with hate and criticism for their performances.

Alejandra "GuccihaAle" is a Twitch streamer known for Fortnite and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, having little to no experience with the FIFA franchise.

It quickly became apparent how unfamiliarized she was with the game during the first two matches against seasoned veterans JuniorT (representing Tigres UANL) and Martin "RapidBunny" Sanchez (Atlético San Luis' player), losing 14-0 and 24-0 respectively, registering no shots on target.

These performances have led fans to critisice Mazatlán for putting a non-pro in such a difficult position, as haters have flooded GuccihaAle's social media accounts, forcing the streamer to lock both her Twitter and Instagram accounts due to harassment.

Before locking her Twitter account, GucciAle shared direct messages sent by angry fans, claiming that she should put down her controller and "head to the kitchen."

"You f*cking suck, stick with cooking, or you can't do that either?" the first message reads, with the one below stating: "Holy sh*t you're f*cking stupid! Losing 14-0 is worthy of a f*ucking stupid girl!"

EA Sports ambassador Carolo Vazquez reprimanded Mazatlán's decision as it demotivates fellow female content creators from trying to showcase their skills. "Today we learned what happens when a woman gets exposed in such a hostile environment like gaming."

As of the time of writing, neither Mazatlán nor the Liga MX have issued a statement regarding the situation.
