FIFA 21 player discovers FUT Birthday resembles Bayern FC legends

Only just wrapping up the FUT Birthday promotion, FIFA Ultimate Team is already on to the return of the Player Days event. Though, some aren’t ready to blow out the Birthday Cake candles just yet.

FIFA 21 player and Reddit user r/Real___Jerry has discovered something strange about the FUT 21 Birthday promotion. As it turns out, a good number of these FUT 21 Birthday cards have something else in common.

FUT 21 Bayern Birthday

Seven of the players included in the FUT 21 Birthday promotion are former, or current Bayern FC players. This might seem obvious to all, but given that the cards were dispersed across the official squads, SBC’s, and Objectives challenges, it wasn’t all that easy to see.

However, the common link is undeniable, and also questionable as to the reason why they were all included in the same promo. Surely EA Sports had to realize this, right?

Upon further review, this is even more egregious than it appears. Four of these seven former or current Bayern players were all on the same team together in Munich during the 2015-2020 period.

It’s unbelievable that this slipped through the cracks, and surely raises questions surrounding the selection process for the FUT Birthday promotion. Here’s to hoping that future FUT Birthday iterations produce more variety.
