Domestic leagues are drawing to a close, and it’s time to recognize the top individual performers. With each campaign, FIFA Ultimate Team celebrates the best players from each top-tier league with official Team of the Season squads.

Adding to normal TOTS festivities, EA Sports is giving the fans a say in who makes the final cut. A Community vote TOTS squad will be released in addition to the league-official teams, as decided by the fans.

The FIFA 21 Team of the Season event officially kicks off on Friday, 23rd April 2021. And now we have a look at the new card design for these high-powered TOTS players.

FIFA 21 Serie A Team of the Season - predictions

As well as the Community TOTS, there are of course the leagues and we have begun making predictions for what players might find themselves in. This time we take a look at the Italian Serie A, where AC Milan and Inter had been neck-and-neck all season before the latter has pulled away in recent weeks.

Also in the mix but further back is Atalanta, Juventus, and Napoli, and there have been consistent performers in each of them.

Goalkeeper

  • GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma - AC Milan
  • GK: Lukasz Skorupski - Bologna

Donnarumma has been a mainstay in the AC Milan side since he was 18, now 22 the Italian goalkeeper is truly entering that world-class bracket and his performances for AC Milan this season, behind a less-than-experienced defence have been stellar.

Poland has always produced top-quality goalkeepers and in Lukasz Skorupski they have forged another. The Bologna GK has played every minute of the campaign that sees them sitting in 11th, earning his side important points in what could have been a relegation fight.

Defenders

  • RB: Juan Cuadrado - Juventus
  • CB: Cristian Romero - Atalanta
  • CB: Theo Hernández - AC Milan
  • LB: Robin Gosens - Atalanta
  • CB: Diego Godín - Calgiari

A mix of young and old here,  Diego Godín, now at Caligari is a good shout for Serie A TOTS, a mainstay in their backline he, at 35, can still keep even the trickiest attacker out.

Representing the younger generation at CB is Atalanta's Cristian Romero and AC Milan's Theo Hernández, both have been impeccable all season and are really starting to make good on their promise.

Also of Atalanta is Robin Gosens, starting to get more games this young full-back has a bright future and his performances this season have been nothing but astounding.

Midfielders

  • CDM: Marcelo Brozovic - Inter
  • CM: Rodrigo de Paul - Udinese
  • LM: Federico Chiesa - Juventus
  • CAM: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - Lazio
  • CAM: Luis Alberto - Lazio

One of the standout players of the entire Serie A season is Rodrigo de Paul, the Argentine has been pulling the strings for Udinese in midfield with 8 goals, 5 assists and 10 man of the match performances in just 30 games. He is guaranteed to be awarded a TOTS card.

Another standout player has been Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. A name familiar to many he too has been phenomenal all season and will very likely be honoured with a TOTS card.

Forwards

  • LW: Lorenzo Insigne - Napoli
  • ST: Luis Muriel - Atalanta
  • ST: Cristiano Ronaldo - Juventus
  • ST: Romelu Lukaku - Inter
  • RW: Domenico Berardi - Sassuolo

Spoiled for choice in the forward positions and there are a few notable absentees from our list, namely Zlatan Ibrahimovic who despite his 15 goals in 16 appearances fails to make the grade.

And that is because there were a few that did it better and for longer, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to bang in the goals for Juventus currently on 25 goals in just as many appearances.

While Romelu Lukaku's performances up top were crucial to Inter's likely Serie A triumph and while his 21 in 27 appearances on paper isn't at the same rate, at the end of the day its trophies that matter.
